Dogma

A zine about nomenclature of geographies at the University of Connecticut (UConn) where the mascot is a Husky dog named Jonathan (for Jonathan Trumbull). This zine explores the idea of naming things after other things—the embedded reference. Self-referential to the point of absurdity.

A plethora of shops, restaurants and streets contain "dog" or "husky" in their name at UConn. The definition of dogma is "a principle or set of principles laid down by an authority as incontrovertibly true".

At University of Connecticut a shared belief in sport and sports culture becomes a “universal truth” as evidenced through the use of language which is preserved in this zine.
